ABOUT US

 
DDP is a studio that prides itself on delivering the “professional experience”.  Scott and Leslie Drewitz have over 25 years of directing, choreographing, teaching and performing experience.

Faculty

·DDP’s faculty is comprised of various professionals that are at the top of their field of training.  In addition to Scott and Leslie, other faculty will be confirmed in August with the distribution of class scheduling.

Awards & Recognitions

·    For the past 21 years, DDP has won numerous achievements, both locally and internationally.
·    In addition to competitions, DDP students have the opportunity to attend various conventions, workshops and summer intensives.
·    All DDP ballet students will take part in the Royal Academy of Dance Examinations (RAD Exam).
​​​Scott Drewitz

Scott began his professional career at the age of 18 in the Canadian Premiere of 42nd Street in Toronto. As a member of Canadian Actors Equity for over 25 years, he has either performed, choreographed, directed or produced over 50 productions across Canada and the US including the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical Crazy For You.  He is well known for his high energy and entertaining choreography which has won numerous awards over the years. Recently he adjudicated American Dance Awards Nationals in Orlando.  Scott is a member of the Rainbow Stage Wall of Fame, inducted for his outstanding contributions as a Performer and Creative - Director / Choreographer.
Leslie Drewitz

Leslie was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she was able to develop her professional career in Musical Theatre through several productions at Rainbow Stage, there upon earning her Canadian Actors’ Equity status at the age of 18.  Selected favourite productions include playing the role of Roxie in Chicago, Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street, and Patsy in Crazy for You. Internationally, she was featured as the Apache Dancer in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Donny Osmond in Chicago, Illinois and toured with Showboat for Livent Inc. During this time she met her husband, Scott and together they moved to Calgary to open Drewitz Dance Productions where they have been teaching for 19 years, earning many prestigious awards for choreography and dance excellence. Leslie is also a registered teacher in the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.  Leslie was inducted into the Rainbow Stage Wall of Fame in 2017.
